This is a great place for hiking, mountain biking, mushroom hunting, wild plants, wild exploration, old french villages and native forests.
We are looking for an indepentent house sitter this winter who can feed the two cats once a day, keep the house warmed, make sure everything is in order and cleqn, walk around the land and keep in contact with us while we are away if there are any problems (ex. if a terrace crumbles or a tree falls on a hiking trail or an animal breaks through an electric fence).
Also, checking in on a cabin or two to make sure there are no leaks and re-setting the rodent traps.
Not very complicated just requires good communication and the desire to be outside in nature =)
There are two wood stoves in the house and a good supply of wood for the winter.
We use dry toilets here. They are located just outside.
We would like you to be present at the house full time though of course leaving for the day is fine. The idea is that there is someone there full time unless we make an agreement and we can get some one to check in if you are gone for a weekend for example.
We are a 3 minute drive from the village which has a bar, restaurant, two little grocery stores, a post office, health center, pharmacy and a butcher's. You can also walk 35 minutes or bike.
My mother lives in the village and passes at the farm sometimes looking for muchrooms. She is a mycologist.
No other pets please. Unless specific agreement before hand.
We would like you to arrive a day or two before our departure so we can show you around and explain things to you.
