We are searching for a caretaker who, in exchange for free or discounted rent, would be responsible for care and maintenance of our historic riverside home. Caretaking obligations would be between 5 and 10 hours per week, depending on the arrangement and would include; safeguarding the house, house cleaning, yard-work (3/4 acre), and various “handyman” projects. We would like to engage someone for at least 3 months beginning in June 2020.
You should also know that we have other residents at the house, so you would not be occupying the property alone. (more details provided upon inquiry)
Our home is located in Bristol Pennsylvania, a charming 300-year old town on the banks of the Delaware River. From our large, shaded, backyard you will enjoy pleasant river views and easy river access for kayaks or other small water craft and for swimming. It's the perfect location for an artist, writer, or other creative type who is willing to do some work for their keep.
In town, there are lovely historic homes and buildings, walking/biking trails, a wonderful riverside library, main street with restaurants and shops, waterfront park with boat launch and bandstand, fantastic Amish market, the Silver Lake Nature Center, and well-known playhouse: the Delaware Riverside Theater.
Sites of interest in the surrounding area are; historic Bucks County, Philadelphia (20 miles south), New York City (75 miles north), Pennsylvania Dutch Country, the Pocono Mountains, and the New Jersey seashore.
Bristol is conveniently located near Interstate 95, the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Turnpikes and the main railway line between Washington DC (3 hours south) and Boston Massachusetts (4.5 hours north).
If you are interested, please respond to the address indicated and we will provide you with more details on the situation.
Sorry, we do not allow pets and are a non-smoking household.
THANKS!
